I really dig this song... the lyrics are great. I have been a Velvet Underground fan forever and Nico's voice is just so different, its hard not to like her a little... Music, Movies, and More (an update, if you will)

Well, since I'm dying in pain over here (didn't hear about my fall? click here) and I'm bored, I'll share some coolness...

We haven't seen a ton of movies lately, but I haven't posted about movies for MONTHS, so let's see if I can remember a few that we've seen.

21: I liked it, but then again, I pretty much love all things Kevin Spacey because he is cool and all.

Hancock: Also a really good movie, I wasn't expecting much when we went to see it, but I enjoyed it alot - I recommend it.

Lady in the Water: Well, you can't go wrong with Paul Giamatti, first of all... And I heard this movie was a total waste of time, so I hadn't given it much thought - but Charles started watching it onDemand this weekend and it was really good. Different, but good.

Shutter: Waste of time... NEXT...

I'm sure we've seen others, but none are coming to mind right now. We are really into In Treatment on HBO, and Weeds on Showtime right now, oh and Swingtown on CBS, which I'm sure is about to go off for the summer never to be heard from again, even though its a pretty good show. You know, for a show about Swingers in the 70s hahahha...

iPod Heaven

Well, after about a year and a half, I finally got my iPod charged and own earphones that fit it - AT THE SAME TIME!!! Yay me!!! I'm so excited I can grocery shop to tunes again and not have to hear anyone speak to me!! :-) (Ya, I'm like that lol)

As for the sicknesses around here, well, I'd hoped we were on the upswing - everyone had seemed well yesterday.... until bedtime when Ally threw up on the couch which was far from pleasant, but we got her all cleaned up and she was fine. Then Syd woke up with a headache today, and I was giving her a "make over" and realized she felt really hot... yeah - 102 temp all day. It got as high as 102.5 around 5-6pm but I finally convinced her to take some tylenol and its gone down now and she feels much better. So basically, I'm just wondering who will wake up sick tomorrow. This is day 10 now... Surely its leaving sooooooooooooooon!!!!!!

Ooooo it STINGS!!!!

I feel like I've either a: swallowed a gallon of acid b: grown fever blisters in my throat or c: both. I've tried everything except straight tequila to ease the pain, to no avail... *sigh*

Well, Ally still hasn't gone to school. I don't know whether I should send her tomorrow or not, either. She still looks weird in her eyeballs, and just lays around on the couch or in my bed the entire day and won't eat, and barely drinks. She didn't seem to be running a fever today, so that is an improvement. I just hate her missing a whole week of school.

As for Trey - if he isn't better by tomorrow I guess I'll call the pediatrician and see if there is anything we should be doing besides feeding him Ibuprofen and trying to force liquids. He hasn't eaten a meal since Saturday, but he's finally started ASKING for drinks today, which is either a good sign, or an indicator that he's dehydrated. He has diarrhea but its not often or anything - just 1-2x/day. (He'd love to know I'm discussing his poop online HAHA!!) He just is so lifeless, and not himself. He was still running a 100-101 fever today on and off. He did eat some rice for lunch, so that was definitely an improvement.

Syd went to school today and happily brought home Ally's Valentine's Day goody bag.

I'm FEELING better, but my lungs are heavy and I sound like I swallowed a St. Bernard (probably the same time I swallowed the acid I previously mentioned.) I went and bought myself some Robitussin though - not the cough kind, but the expectorant/chest/nasal decongestant. It tastes worse than crap, and I can't tell if it's working, but I'm gonna pretend like it is. (It tastes so bad that, in fact, that I gave Ally some and she gagged three times, then threw up about 6 min later.)

Few More Songs for you to enjoy!

I can't help but share music that moves me because listening to these songs (and the others listed on the sidebar) have helped me through some rough spots and kept me going. Also - there is another reason - the music a person listens to says things about them. For instance, for anyone who knows the Wizard irl knows that you can't ever really KNOW the Wizard lol - don't even try, its impossible, can't be done haha... He really is the epitome of "the man behind the curtain"... (And I'm probably just like him, one big "riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma" as Winston Churchill would say) BUT - I can probably say the majority of the times we've really "RELATED" have been through music.

For instance, you may or may not know that the Wizard is a former Assembly of God pastor (yeah, yeah, I'm a PK and that explains it all...) So my earliest childhood memories involve Christian music, especially songs like this, this, this ("filet-o-mana!"), and even this... Then in college when my parents were dropping me off at college this made us all cry as we were saying our goodbyes, and this song I listened too over and over and over trying to understand what I wanted to do about college... lol

BUT - my dad and I have had many discussions about what he would label "secular" music - The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, The Beach Boys, even The Doors... (My dad knows good music even though he'd never admit it hehe)... Anyway, I say all that partially as a walk down memory lane for him, but also as an example of how music can tell you about a person and make for a common bond when its hard to find common ground sometimes. :-) I love ya, Wizard, even though we don't see eye to eye on most things anymore. Thanks for letting me be me - that means more than you'll ever know.

Also, that's why I post about music on here so much, cuz its little snapshots into who I was, who I am, and who I wanna be in the future... Lyrics are to me what Victorian poetry/literature was to repressed women in the 1800s - FREEDOM!
