MY HOUSE IS CLEAN!!!

Ash looking into your SOUL....
Are you scared??

My house is clean and I'm a happy camper!!!
Well, its not like "white glove" clean, but its company friendly hahaha!!
I'm exhausted! But its worth it. Its been a rough week, but the rewards sure are nice :-)

Silly Trey Trey

Yes, it seems while Mommy (or "Supermother" as I've been dubbed lately) is cleaning, the only logical, practical thing to do is build a clubhouse, right? :-)

I have gotten so much done this week, its unbelievable. I'm almost to the point where I wouldn't be mortified if someone dropped by unannounced! hahahahahah~~~
Now if only I could get some new chairs for my dining table that weren't falling apart and colored with magic markers. Ahhhh one day, grasshopper, one day!!!

BUSY BUSY BEE!!!

I've been so busy that I haven't been able to post much! I have been cleaning the house like a mad woman!!! I will post some pics soon. I am ALMOST done... I have the dining room and 1/2 bath left, then I will be at the point that I wouldn't be mortified if someone dropped by hahahaha!!!

Cleaning and earaches

I cleaned some more today, and as its a neverending process, I gather I'll be doing it tomorrow too hahah!!
Tomorrow night is Sydney's school Christmas Program (it was canceled in December due to ice). So that should produce some fun pictures.
Its almost 7pm and Ash isn't home yet. I can't decide what to fix for supper, either. I put a roast in the crockpot this morning, but I only had potatoes and onions, I thought I had carrots, but didn't... Sooooooo I might have biscuits and gravy and add the carrots later, but that would involve "work" so we might just have carrot-less roast heheh.
Well, anyway, not much else going on around here... I didn't post last week about it because I forgot to, but last Tuesday we had to take Trey to ImmediateCare at 10:30pm because he was screaming with an earache. He NEVER complains about feeling bad, so we knew it was serious. It ended up being infected and they gave him some drops, and abx (which he didn't actually take all of, but that's a whole other story lol), and some Tylenol w/ codeine, which he never had to take fortunately. But ----- now *I* have an earache!! lol figures, huh???

Cleaning cleaning and more cleaning

Man, I hate cleaning! I've been working in my bedroom for like THREE DAYS!!! (Then again I can't sit and clean up stuff for more than a few hours at a time, so it wasn't as bad as three days worth of work - but close). That's what happens when your kids discover that they love to play on the computer and they won't leave the room for any reason except friends and bed lol...

You really can't believe the crazy things I found in the mess over by the desk - there were some rather gross things. LOL Not quite as gross as the jar of peanut butter I found under the bathroom sink with jelly and grapes in it though.............

I love my kids
I love my kids
I love my kids.....................

Pantry is DONE!!!!!

I love you, Dorothy!!! :)

She did NOT catch any mice by the tails or anything, but she did have one climb down her leg. I would have peed my pants had that happened to ME! But she laughed... Freako!

It looks SOOOOOOOOOOO nice! I got all my kitchen cabinets gone through and cleaned and organized now, too, which I'd been working on for a few days. (I have a TON of cabinets in my kitchen.) So now I have so much more room, it's loverly.

But I am worn out. Seriously.

Monday, March 26

Ewww!!!11!!2!!!!!!!1 (sorry, I'm a gamer...) ^^

I have taken my temp and it's 97.5, so I know I'm not ill. (I have a cooler temp than normal, doesn't that mean I should be "cool" in general??? Too bad it doesn't work that way.) But...it is true:

I
Cleaned
My
Trashcan

Yes, I really did. It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO gross. There was grossness in there that I won't even discuss with you all... The entire cabinet where the trashcan is kept was d-i-s-g-u-s-t-i-n-g! And... I cleaned it ALL!!!!!!! The best part is that I encountered ZERO living things woohoo!

So now, as of today, I have officially worn out and thrown away one of the dishcloths I knit. LOL My kids were freaking out that I had to throw one away, they were like, "Are you SURE you wanna do that???" I said, "Well, it has like 5 holes in it and serious grossness from the trash cabinet!"

3x5s

Well, today was the first official day of the 3x5 cards and the girls each got a card or two. Now they are fighting over WHO GETS TO CLEAN MORE!! Yeah, that novelty is sure to wear off quickly!! LOL They are literally fighting over who gets to sweep more of the downstairs... its quite funny.

As for me, I cleaned the back door today. This may not seem like much, but lemme tell ya... I don't think its been as thoroughly cleaned as I cleaned it today! And we've only lived here for 5 years HAHA!!! The backdoor is a sliding glass door, and though the glass HAS been cleaned, it has never all been cleaned all at once. I am so proud HAHA!!!

I'm still feeling yucky. In fact, I got Syd off to school and laid back down (nothing new there) and then got up at 10:30, went in the living room with Charles and slept until 1. Yeah, that's not normal lol. He and I are both sick with colds, actually all 5 of us are feeling yucky. He took a vacation this week to get some things done around here, but we'll see if FFXI actually lets him off the couch........ :-)

Working on my schedule makes me happy

Or so I keep telling myself hahaha.............
I really do work well with schedules, and I'm going back to one. I had used the S.H.E. system back when my house was really really clean in 2004, but got away from it after a few months when "real life" hit me again after the swoon of childbirth and nesting wore off. But anyway, I ordered the book again, and combined with Flylady's book I am putting a schedule together again. I had a REALLY great schedule, but it was erased when we switched to our new Mac.

I won't bore you with all the nitty gritty details, but here is the basic "Weekly Plan":
Monday: Moderate Cleaning
Tuesday: Free Day
Wednesday: Heavy Cleaning
Thursday: Menu Planning/Grocery Shopping
Friday: Moderate Cleaning

Some of you are probably cringing at the idea of having your days so scheduled, and don't get me wrong, this doesn't mean cleaning the entire day or anything, just a guideline of what I plan to get done each day. I do not work well on my own lol I need guidance and direction. I don't play well with others, either - haha - it's the curse of the only child. :-)

Cleaning results... / Daily Ramblings

Well, this is only one room, but I'm getting there. I'm putting up pics as motivation! LOL I've cleaned the bathroom and 1/2 my bedroom, too. The foryer and hallway are clean and the living room is staying decent, too!!
And before you ask, YES - that IS in fact a 1972 fitted twinsize sheet hanging on my back door... The sun glares on the tv and we put that up as a diversion - sexy, huh??
Oh, and one way you can know for sure I'm not pulling a fast one on you and these are in fact recent pics is....... the stove lol. We didn't have that stove in the 2004 pics haha!! I love my appliances haha. I should take a pic of my new washing machine I got for Christmas, but my laundry room isn't "picture ready" yet hehe.

I was flipping through Comcast OnDemand to see what's on HBO and yay - Walk the Line is on! This movie is maybe especially "special" to our family, but if you haven't seen it, you should, its excellent - even if you *gasp* hate Johnny Cash. I say it's extra special to us because my FIL used to love Johnny Cash. (He basically loved all things country lol). Anyway, Ally is a huge fan of Johnny Cash - yup, you heard me right, a 5yo who LOVES Johnny Cash. So, there are some emotions going on when we watch this film or hear JC's music. I wasn't ever really a fan, as I am more of an AC/DC and/or Metallica fan, but I always loved "Ring of Fire", which is now our official family song along with "Magic Toilet Ride" (Charles' version of Steppenwolf's "Magic Carpet Ride" hahaha!) Charles and I were just sitting here discussing how we both have a whole new appreciation for Johnny Cash since his dad died. We have grown to love JC, even though we shuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun all other things country. :-)

FlyLady - Day 2

Well, I have successfully completed Day 2 - hooray for me! (Even though that basically means I got up and put clothes on lol...) I went to Kmart and got a new notebook for my Control Journal. I didn't have any loose-leaf paper to put in a binder and I'm not really a binder kind of person. So, I just bought a simple 3subject spiral notebook. (And of course some fun colored pens...and post-its...but I swear that's all!)

Not much knitting has been happening around here the last few days. I have been kinda busy with the kids and cleaning. Unfortunately, this is going to continue for the next few weeks, I'd assume. I'm going to declutter my closet next week - and omg, you really have no idea just how horrible that is... My kids have gone in there and taken EVERYTHING off the hangers (literally there is NOTHING hanging up) and everything off the shelves and thrown it all on the floor. Fortunately, the clothes I wear are kept in the dresser (or usually the close baskets brought down from the dryer), and I hang Charles clothes up each week in a doorway lol. So yeah, I need to get all this back in order... Because in 2004, my house looked like this:

Oy vey, where did THIS house go???? I assure you it looks NOTHING like that now!!! I miss that house, it was so tranquil. Then again, its MUCH easier to clean when you have one kid in school, a toddler, and an infant, rather than one kid in school, and two rambunctious ones at home all day. (Plus, I was still "nesting" when my house was this clean because it was right after my son was born.) Maybe I should have another kid??? H A H A H A if you knew me IRL, you'd know just how I-N-S-A-N-E that would be! :-) I love the ones I have, but I don't want any more!

First of the Month Ramblings

Ok, I've done the FlyLady thing many times before, but never gotten through it all because well, I'm lazy lol. But, I seriously need to work through it this time and not live like this anymore.

So, here goes nothing...
Day 1

This is another attempt at Fingerless Gloves. I read on Craftster.org that someone made some out of Peaches and Cream cotton, so I'm seeing how that goes, since I'm still unsure what to make of the Cash Vero I have on hand.

UPDATE: I finished one glove, I really like it, but there are some changes I want to make. I'm glad I used scrap yarn, but it only took a tiny amount. I'm going to make it less wide and I am thinking of putting a button at the wrist, because I want them tighter than ribbing. I'll post a pic of the completed one tomorrow.

And thanks to Laura (I think) from my Knitting Circle, here is a funny knitting project you can knit up for your Christmas list along with the Willy Warmers. HAHA

(Warning: NSFW)
Little Nekkid Man!

Here is a close up picture in case you are interested lol...

Funstuff, indeed. (I hear he's "fully pose-able")

These are pictures of the Skull Illusion Scarf. Looking straight at it, you basically see only stripes, but looking at it perpendicular, you see the skull and crossbones. I will either continue making this as an entire scarf, or make a little bag for Sydney, I haven't decided yet.

One last thing, someone showed me a great color scheme generator and I lost the link. Well, I looked it up today, and thought I'd share with ya'll. Its really a nifty little tool. I'm gonna use it to make some Fair Isle patterns or striped hats or something... lol

I also found this one which makes funky swirly designs to give you an even better idea of how the colors look together.

Cleaning House

Ok, the time has come for me to clean my house... I don't WANT to, but I must. If I don't, I think we are gonna have to move out as the clutter takes over.

ME?!?!?! A PROCRASTINATOR?!?!?!

Scarlett: I can't think about that right now. If I do, I'll go crazy. I'll think about that tomorrow.

My DH told me yesterday that I was a procrastinator... I'm in SHOCK!!!!! I'm so offended I think I'll go do something else for a while and come back to thinking about how upset I am about it later. Ok, ok, ok, so I am not really shocked. At least he admitted to being one too. I just am a lazy person at heart, and not to mention a perfectionist. Yes, this sounds like a contradiction in terms but its not, really, I promise. :p Here is my theory: I do not like to undertake things that are beyond out of control because I cannot accomplish them with the amount of skill that I demand of myself. Does that sound like mumbo jumbo? lol... Well, take my house for instance... Its so monumentally cluttered and icky that I just don't even want to start decluttering cleaning because I know that I will concentrate on the miniscule rather than the big picture. And in the meantime, my kids will continue to dump bags of sugar, dogfood, catfood, cereal, and yarn onto the floor, and the dog will continue to scatter said items throughout the house. What I NEED is a maid. :-) Then again I am afraid that my family would scare her away her first day. hehe
