Misc. Pics

"I am not a Crook!!" lol
Charles telling everyone, Peace, dude! And Dorothy with a safety pin in her teeth. Why? Because it was cute, and she has a pretty mouth and gorgeous teeth!

Dressup at Nana's. Trey's multiple personalities and Ally as an old lady. Man, Trey is pretty much filthy in these pics hahaha!!!

That is an evil grin if I ever saw one! Trey loves this dog! Her name is Sugar, she belongs to my mother in law's best friend - we were at her house for minute after Iona's heart cath before we left for home - AT TEN PM!!!

Ally at Nana's playing dressup and also showing her wings that will be part of her Halloween Costume.

Oy Vey...

Does the drama in my life ever stop? lol
Ally woke up with a headache on Friday morning, and then slept most of the day. She was fine after that, and then had a fever Friday night. She woke up on Saturday morning with a rash but no fever and she didn't act sick. She had complained of a sore throat once on Friday, but didn't seem bothered by it afterwards. So my first thought was Scarlatina, which I had like 3x as a kid. (Its basically scarlet fever, some people say its a mild version some say its no different - scarlet fever is basically nothing more than strep throat with a rash, it rarely causes complications anymore due to antibiotics.) Anyway, her rash got worse today, its on her whole torso, worse in her groin area (looks like she has diaper rash), her neck, chin, cheek, and eye. She says it doesn't itch, and she doesn't act sick in the least... So tomorrow if its worse we are planning on at least calling the pediatrician to see if she needs to be seen... I am doubting the scarlatina now, though, because she isn't "sick". I remember when I had it those times and I was MISERABLE!

Anyway, fast forward to tonight - Sydney complains about her tooth... omg - her tooth is so screwed up! I called my mom to leave a message for the dentist for an emergency appointment. I don't know if she has an abscess or what, but her gum is beet red and terribly swollen and looks bruised and is partially split and bleeding... Her filling is missing from that tooth, too... I am guessing he will pull it. She says it hurts but its not terrible. She has the WORST TEETH like ever........ they are so horrible, poor thing!! (She had 6 caps and 2 fillings when she was 13mos old - and has had like 4 fillings since then, too. I blame antibiotics as an infant - and had a dentist tell me it was likely.)

So............ I have to take Syd to the dentist 2hrs away and try to get Ally in to be seen at the pediatrician's office, too, if her rash isn't better. Lovely - that shouldn't be too hard, huh?????? LOL!!!!

Now a few pics:
The family pic below was taken in October and the other is of Ally's rash. (The mark on her cheek isn't from the rash, its from the dog and she won't quit picking at it.) The last picture is of Syd's tooth - its not a great pic - it was taken with my phone so the quality sucks.

Finally!!!

I finally got my camera to work with the laptop AND my phone, too!! So now I can put pics on here again YAY!!!!

So enjoy! :-)

Some Halloween, some Christmas tree decorating (with Sydney in a bikini, because isn't that how EVERYONE decorates the tree?!?!?!), some of mother-in-law's bday party, and the MOHAWK!!!

White River Valley Antique Show

We spent yesterday at the White River Valley Antique Show. It was lots of fun seeing the demonstrations: old fashioned threshers, the sawmill, the grain mill, steam engines, and much more. The kids took a little train ride and we saw mules and horses, an old fashioned one room school house, tractors, and many other things. We also saw many Amish and Mennonite people so there were many teaching opportunities about how other people live, etc. It was a good day. :-)

Enjoying the Car

We are thoroughly enjoying the car! Its so fancy schmancy lol...

Not much else going on - my sunburn is FINALLY almost gone on my shoulder. I can't believe how badly I got burned.

Let's see, what else - still spending copious amounts of time on FFXI, but that's nothing new lol.

Trying to pay some bills, freaking out about money, not sleeping, headaches, tummy aches, stressing out, you know, same ol' same ol' HAHA!!

Charles moved into his new office yesterday - he's excited about his new space, but he hates the extra mileage everyday. He has about 10min extra each way. But at least he has that extra 20min a day in a fancy car, right???? Oh, and he wants me to take some new pics of the car because he doesn't like the ones I put up of it earlier - so I'll try to do that later this weekend.

... ... ... ...

Its been too depressing around here to even post. It has pretty much hit rock bottom around here and nobody really likes to hear people whine, you know? We still haven't left to get our new car, our other two cars are still broke, we have been ingesting large quantities of potato chips, and candy to soothe our weary souls... lol

On the 4th the Wizard and Dorothy came up to try to help us w/ the Audi, but it is just dead dead dead. They left after lunch and that night we decided to do something different since we were all upset about the trip and went to the drive-in. We saw Evan Almighty and The Fantastic Four and the Rise of the Silver Surfer. Evan Almighty sucked big time, but the Fant. 4 was actually better than I had anticipated.

We watched some fireworks from the drive-in, so that was fun. Sydney HATES anything loud, so we were leery of taking her downtown. (The prior years have sometimes ended in near panic attacks...)

Anyway, that's what is going on around here - a whole lotta nothing...

Tuesday, July 3

Still here...

Haven't left yet - we don't really know what's going on yet. We are MAYBE going to go to NYC for the 4th while we wait another day for the car to get done. **sigh** This is such a stressful transaction, I'll be so happy when its all over.

Hopefully the trip is smooth...........

UPDATE!!!

Guess who just came home??????????????????
Yup, Mrs. Isywysy herself!

I was calling for her again after I got out of the shower and heard her cry, and she ran in the house - with mouse fur on her face and all lol. At least she found food! (She's never been outside, other than an escape or two which have always ended in about 3min...so I was really worried about her.)

We are so happy to have Isis home again!!!

Happy Birthday, "Uncle Josephina!"

Sunday was my Uncle Irving's (48th) birthday, and we all got together for a little "shin-dig wing-ding" lol. I don't know why, but for some reason Ally has always called him "Uncle Josephina" and his wife (Tammy) "Aunt Josephina"... :-)

Here is the rest of the family - my dad (aka "The Wizard" or possibly from now on because of this picture "Whitebeard", my Aunts - Marty, Sandy, and Cindy, and my Grandma.

It looks like Jackson tried to hunt Ally, my cousin Tyler played "Cornhole", and everyone started acting really goofy by the end of the night.

Charles J. Thompson, Jr.

May 25, 1923 - May 23, 1989

Well, today would have been my Grandpa Thompson's 84th birthday. Its really sad because I can hardly remember him, but yet all I really have to do is look at my dad and I can see him: wide hands with thick fingers, permanently stained from his job as a machinist. I remember riding with him to church in his noisy brown car in the summer with no air conditioning listening to him whistle - only later to learn he told my mom "She sure talks alot!" lol. I can remember seeing him standing in the doorway of his house only a few weeks (days?) before he died, covered in a rash caused partly by the stress of taking care of my grandma who was in the throws of a very bad nervous breakdown - trying to take care of her, everyone else seeing what he could or would not, that he wasn't able to help her alone. Sometimes when I visit my parents I think back to my childhood as they live in the house my Grandpa built and I watch my dad "tinkering" in the garage and remember that's exactly what my Grandpa always did. I remember Christmases where the living room was so crowded with presents you could hardly walk. My dad's little sister is only 6 years older than me, so we were close enough in age to argue over games, toys, and especially Barbies. My Grandpa would just sit quietly and watch all the chaos that was his house of 5 kids and eventually 5 grandkids. I rarely remember him even speaking, but when he did it was also much like my own dad, very quiet and very subdued but you also always knew when he meant business, even if he never raised his voice. I also remember stories my dad told me about him - like how my grandpa would pick up my dad for work in the morning during the few years before my grandpa retired and they worked together and Grandpa would drink coffee and spit and gag all the way to work, nearly throwing up because of the coffee lol... I remember my mom saying once when they were living at my grandparents' home just after they got married, and my grandpa walked out of his room in a T-Shirt and his boxers and nearly had heart failure because my mom SAW him... I remember stories Aunt Jessie (my grandpa's sister and next door neighbor) would tell me about when "Junior" was young (he was the baby of the family). I guess he was a pistol - I have vague recollections of stories of skinny dipping in the creek up the road and rides on Indian motorcycles with his cousin.

I was only 13 when he died, but the events surrounding his death are vivid in my mind as it was a really horrible time of confusion and bewilderment to me. I stayed with my other grandparents while he was in the hospital for the 6 days after the accident before he died while my parents kept vigil in Indianapolis.

Since then many changes have taken place in the family, my parents did much needed renovations and repairs to my grandparents' house and moved in, my Grandma eventually remarried and was widowed again (though that whole situation is a story in and of itslef lol), marriages, divorces, as so on. Four more grandchildren have been added, and two of his grandchildren are now married. Three great-grandchildren have been born (my kids), and the three siblings of my grandpa who were living at the time of his death have passed on.

We love and miss you, Grandpa, "Charlie", Charles, "Junior", Dad...

(Bad quality but it says: "A rural Sullivan man is in serious condition in the neuro critical care unit at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after he was pinned under an automobile Wednesday afternoon. Charles J. Thompson, R4 Sullivan, was taken to Mary Sherman Hospital then transferred by Lifeline helicopter to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Sullivan County Sheriff's Deputy Ron Jones said today that Thompson was pinned underneath a car after a jack slipped. Thompson was working in a shed just of Indiana 154, west of Sullivan, Jones said. When rescue units arrived bystanders had already freed Thompson from beneath the car, Jones said. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed on Thompson at the scene. No further details were available.)

Swingset Day!! (PIC HEAVY!!)

Well, I was up all night with my stomach issue, so I didn't get to go to Sydney's game this morning. I was too sick and too tired. Anyway, Charles said she did well, and Iona (MIL) had a good time, too.

So my "gardner" [AKA dude who mows my lawn for $20] knocked on my door at EIGHT-FORTY-FIVE AM to see if I needed my lawn mowed (which I did). I told him to mow, but I was going back to bed lol. Even though he was mowing I was able to go back to sleep. He finished JUST as Dorothy was coming to the door - YAY! She had brought us the swingset.

I was still sick, but went outside with everyone after they got home from the game to "help" put together the new toy. I really just mostly lay on the grass and moaned and groaned lol... But ol' Dorothy was kickin' butt helping Charles out! As she was helping I noticed her cute toes... FAKE TOENAILS!!!!! Who'd a thunk it!

LOL Of course there was much drama during the whole course of things, what with Dorothy smashing her pretty toenails with the "Stairway to Heaven" and Sydney faking getting hurt in the truck unloading parts.

Charles had lots of fun putting this together... It didn't take long - only 7 hours!!

But the kids kept busy the whole time... Well, most of the time. :-)

It was all well worth it though. The kids LOVE the new set! (Although in a few of these Trey is playing on the old swing and having a blast lol... oh well.) Oh, and don't mind the trash in the pictures, we had Olive Garden take out and it seems there was a salad fight on the new swingset hehehe!!

At the end of the day we are all exhausted and sunburned (even though I was slathering sunscreen on us all through the day). But it was a good day. I haven't been outdoors for 8 hours straight in like 30 years hahaha!!!
