Doily #6

By the way, somehow #5 never got its picture taken, but it is living happily at my Grandma June's house. :-)

This colorful number will be going to Syd's teacher for a late Christmas present. It has about 4in left before it is complete.

Doily Maker Extraordinaire

This doily was made as a gift, but I can't say for whom, because its a surprise lol.

Thursday, October 11

Even though you said it would NEVER happen!!!

I went through my yarn stash today!!! :)
I gathered all my needles and hooks that over the past year had been played w/ by the kids, etc. I didn't have high expectations on how many needles/hooks I would find but I was VERY pleasantly surprised!! I have nearly everything! I haven't lost much at all! (And a few of those missing items I think might be in my room hidden somewhere by the computer lol.)

I told everyone that I would be starting knitting/crocheting again once it started to get cold and we've had record highs AND record lows this week, and headaches galore to go along w/ it, I have decided its time for the diversion... the soothing mindlessness and meditation of "yarning" lol...

I think I will start with a quick ugly pair of slippers. :-)

Crochet Bug/Movies

I seem to have caught the Crochet Bug. Now, before all you die-hard knitters get on me about this hear me out. First and foremost, I am a knitter. Period. LOL! Secondly, most crochet items seem WAAAY to "crafty" looking for my taste. However, I have found a few things that I really really like. For instance, crocheted bedspreads and table runners - very nice. Also SOME afghans, but not all. Dishcloths - loves it! hehehe

So I pulled out an old pamphlet I bought AGES ago and started tinkering around with some stitches. Until today I've never been able to even get a "SC" to look right. Now it seems like everything is sort of clicking in my head. I have made 2 squares for an afghan that will probably never get finished, but that doesn't matter, I'm having fun and that's all that matters. :-) Yes, I realize the blue square is a little funky shaped but I'm not frogging it hahaha!

As for movies we've watched this weekend, what a disappointment! First, we watched The Constant Gardner. Well, I wasn't thrilled with it but it wasn't horrible. Then today we watched Bee Season and it was on the verge of horrible. Maybe I just didn't "get it" but I hated it. LOL Right now we are watching The Cider House Rules. I've tried to watch this a few times in the past but always have been interrupted, so we'll see if I get to finish it this time...

Addiction??

Yeah, I can't stop making dishcloths - crocheting them is SOOO quick! Anyway, I made this one this morning, and the 2nd pic is an old one that my MIL made me.

I counted all my dishcloths up and I have 12 already.
