Yarn shopping

Well, the girls decided they wanted some mittens and hey, who am I to object to a project hahahaha! So we went to HobbyLobby (closed on Sundays ><) and then went next door to Michaels, which remind me to never go to again - eww... But THEN we drove down the street to Jo-Ann's and found almost just what we were looking for. I was really looking for Paton's Kroy, but I can't seem to find it anywhere here in Indy yet - but I haven't tried the LYSs yet. Anyway, we bought 3 skeins of yarn - one for each child some mittens or gloves if I get really ambitious, and I got some cute FunFur for $1 each to make myself a little cute scarf.

We got Lion Brand Yarn - Wool-Ease in Dark Rose Heather for the girls and Denim Twist for Trey-Trey. The FunFur (also obviously Lion Brand) is Raspberry and Champagne. Should be fun.

Also picked up some sz8 needles so I can finish the blue mitten and blue bootie... (and why is it that nearly all stores are out of sz8 right now???? Is all of Indy knitting suddenly????)

Tomorrow is Trey-Trey's birthday, we bought a cake mix and some icing in a jar to make cupcakes (don't feel like being domestic and making from scratch today). I was supposed to have my first "knit-in" tomorrow at Panera Bread but they've changed the time to be during the day and trust me they don't want my kids there while we knit hahahha!!!

UPDATE: woohoo!! The "knit-in" is indeed at 7pm! I'm so excited... I just hope dh gets in time :-)
