"Glittens" and "Gauntlets"

I'm not sure I get these... I think they would be very uncomfortable. I see the point of them, I'm just not sure how well the idea works. I think it would just feel "wrong". :) [Although, I did see a site where a woman knitted her dh's hunting mittens on his "trigger" hand this way, and called them something like "trigger mittens" - that at least seems functional.]

Now Gauntlets (wrist warmers) on the other hand are totally right up my alley. I am going to make myself a pair of these soon... They are listed as different things different places, but they are basically a type of fingerless gloves or wristwarmers... I always wear my sleeves across my hands and always wish my sweaters had "thumb holes" so this is a great thing for me!
