Cookout

Well, my parents had a cookout last night for my birthday. As we were driving down there we got a call from my mother in law that she was on her way to the hospital because she thought she'd had a stroke. After waiting at the hospital for about an hour, I drove the kids down to my parents' house so they could play for a little bit, eat, and so I could put in an appearance at my own birthday party lol. I had a really great time, even though I was disappointed that not one single person I had invited came... Not that I have any hard feelings about this or anything....*sarcasm* Anyway, those who matter most we there, and that's what really matters!! The chili was DELICIOUS and this morning I'm wishing I'd brought some home because I don't want to cook anything hehehe. The cake was SOO yummy, too - and I DID bring some of that home - and yes, I've already been munching on the cake this morning........

Anyway, so after an hour and a half nearly everyone had left and Charles called to let us know that his mom had indeed had a mini-stroke and was being kept overnight for observation. She should be released sometime this morning. We do not know how much residual effects will remain. Her cat scan came back clean, so it is still a bit of a mystery...

Here are some pics from the party - I think everyone had a really good time, even though it was COLD!!! But The Wizard transformed his garage into a warm place for everyone to hang out, so that was really nice. The kids even played in the DARK in the WOODS for most of the night, as amazing as that sounds lol!! They had flashlights and enjoyed it all immensely.

Happy belated birthday, and sending lots of good energy to your mom!

I would have come if you had invited me! Well, maybe if I lived a bit closer ^^ Just wanted to add that to let you know that you have good friends even if they are far away.

Thanks so much. Its my husband's mom, and she is still in the hospital. Sugar levels still really high, and blood pressure as well. Hoping she can come home tomorrow.

I know it's arms but it sure looks like Dorothy has a big "chest" going on there, don't you think? She must learn to unfold her arms for pix. hahahahhahaha
